The Socialist Party of Cyprus has announced a new political campaign at a press meeting.

The Solution: Anti-Imperialist United Front

• The Socialist Party of Cyprus (SPC) has brought to the attention of the public opinion its alternative solution proposal regarding the Cyprus problem at a press meeting organised on 28 August. At the press meeting, where also an evaluation of the talks carried out by the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders within the framework of finding a solution to the Cyprus problem were made, it was stated that the SPC does not have any expectations out of this process of talks. In the statement, where attention was drawn to the contradiction between the interests of the imperialist powers that have hegemony over Cyprus and the interests of the Cypriot people, it was stated that the only way removing the problem was through the anti-imperialist struggle which the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot people will carry out.

• At the press meeting, information was given about the Anti-Imperialist united Front Government program which the SPC sees the only way in resolving the Cyprus problem and announced the start of a new political campaign. In the alternative programme proposed by the SPC, there are expositions on ownership, citizenship, guarantorships and British bases, as well as Turkish and Greek military forces and bases.

• At the press meeting, the new logo of the Party was presented. It was said that the new and old logo of the Party would be both used together.
